How to Build a Winning Proposal

Watch the full walkthrough — then follow the steps below.

1

Start from the measurement report

In your dashboard, open the report for the job and click "Create Proposal". Measurements, pitch, and material quantities flow in automatically — no re-typing, no arithmetic errors.

2

Pick your template

Choose from residential asphalt, metal re-roof, flat commercial, or repair. Each template ships with pre-written scope-of-work language, warranty terms, and payment schedule your lawyer won't hate.

3

Price the job

Enter your per-square price (or use your saved default). The builder multiplies by the squares from the report, adds tear-off and disposal line items, applies your waste factor, and shows the total with tax. Markup, overhead, and profit are editable.

Pro tip: Save 3–4 pricing presets (basic, premium, architectural) so you can switch tiers in one click when a homeowner asks "what would the upgrade cost?".
4

Add upsells and good-better-best

Tick the boxes for ice & water shield extras, drip edge, ridge vents, skylight flashings, gutter cleaning. Or offer three side-by-side tiers — homeowners pick the middle option 60% of the time.

5

Attach photos and the sample

Drop in drone photos from the inspection, a copy of the measurement PDF, your insurance certificate, and Google reviews. A proposal with photos closes at almost 2× the rate of text-only.

6

Send for e-signature

Click "Send". The homeowner gets an email with a live proposal link — they can read, ask questions, and sign from their phone. You get a push notification the instant they open it and again when they sign.

7

Signed → Job

When they sign, Roof Manager creates the job card in your pipeline, schedules the deposit invoice, and notifies your ops manager. You're done selling; you're now just building roofs.
